With making money on the internet fast becoming an old profession there would seem to be a way to make more money with your own online music promotions.
Do yourself a favor though right off the mark, do not waste your time on anything that tries to tell you how you will make hundreds or even millions in your first day of online music promotions, but don’t totally discount the entire idea either. So before you begin spending your own hard earned pay try to get a feel for what is out there and available for those who may need a boost promoting their music online.
Also go ahead and get a major grip on the fact that either you will need to do a bit of footwork, or find someone helpful who can show you how to or even do it for you at low or no cost. With the internet itself it seems crazy to pay for knowledge as very little knowledge is entirely restricted from you if you take the time to look. But be prepared as it can take time. Try to remember too that the more time you can put into it, the better reaction you will get!

Blogging
You simply have to learn some of the tricks of the trade here. No one can really tell you and no one should be selling you information you can find on your own. Research some of the blogging sites and get a feel for what other promoters may be doing for themselves. Mix and match any ideas that come within your price range.
So how hard could it be? Well if you, like a lot of us these days, are are too busy struggling with our own economies and working as hard as we can to get by, you may be limited on what you can do with your budget. If you can master the blog ideas, or get some assistance in doing so, you have one of the best ways to promote your music online already.
If you work your blogs right you can even grow a following that will allow you to do some ad hosting and get an extra chance at yet more money to help speed up your online music promotion options! Well this ROCKS! So if you have any familiarity with blogging at all you really should get started blogging. It may not be the quickest process but it really does work! Always make sure to give other people props for their ideas in your industry. This is not online considered proper blogger etiquette but is yet another good way to find your own fan base.

Youtube.com
Really, I don’t think you could run across many people that could say Youtube is not a huge benefit in the promotion of anything media related. But for online music promotions just imagine the possibilities. From a generation that stayed glued to their Televisions waiting for the next new video to pop onto MTV, Youtube is positively the goose that laid the golden egg for generation X’rs on down to today’s youngest music generations.
You do not need me to tell you how endless the possibilities are here but I will try. First of all do not discount your chances just because no one has a high speed digital camera with a processor to automatically upload it to Youtube the second you are done creating it, slow down take a breath and think of what we do have. Almost everyone has a cell phone or even a digital camera, they are affordable and also are often gifts we can ask for during holidays and birthdays right? So take your nice or even cheapo camera and film a few minutes of your bands sessions or a gig you are playing. When you get home upload it to your Youtube.com account and get some of your friends and band members to make sure they hit up the site, check out the video and make a couple comments.
This is a great networking tool too and even though it’s all about the videos, Youtube also has quite a large following of users who thoroughly enjoy checking out hometown bands and local talents regardless of where they are.
With both of these online music promotion ideas you require little extra outside sources as you can accomplish these things even if you are technologically behind most peoples digital and instant online capabilities in this day and age! Even the ricketiest old pc will open up a blog page, on dial up, and as long as you don’t have an hour of footage you could still do the same on Youtube, though for a prehistoric connection like a dial up you better be prepared to walk away for a while.
Since most people are at least on a high speed internet these days and have phones or small digital cameras that offer video recording at least in small increments there really is not a lot of extra excuse for anyone who wants or needs to promote their music online cannot get a great start with little or no start up cost at all.
