So we all know how easy it is to just jump online and find about anything there is to be had. You can quickly locate a cheap used air conditioner for emergencies when yours dies. You can do the same for a fault vehicle that needs a quick replacement. But what happens when your band or group loses a primary member. We all know this happens and happens often. Even to the rock stars who have entertained us for years. So why isn’t there a place where you can quickly go and pick up a permanent or at least a temporary band mate with the skills you need to complete your band.
Actually there is. A young musician pointed out to me this week an incredible site to go and post your Musician style classified ad. This site allows you to post audio or video of yourself or your band in action and gives those looking for a new team member the easiest way to judge for themselves who may be a good match. This can be a huge time saver for the musician and the band seeking a replacement. Instead of hours spent in the garage or studio auditioning people on equipment they may not be familiar with or tunes they have never tried, you can simply browse the bandmix site, listen to the posters who seem to fit into your genre and then send them a message of your interest.
Personally, I think this is an enormous tool for online music promotion. The internet continues to open up opportunities to those who wouldn’t have them in other ways, otherwise! What better way to fill the gap an angry band member, or a pregnant one, has left then to swiftly gather your remaining members around the computer and collectively and possibly within minutes find the perfect new partner for your music and online music promotion ventures!
